Maar MTN when i really need my phone

I paid my account last month and I normally pay on the 25th when i get paid, my account is not arrears but I received a SMS that I have to pay R277 and my phone was suspended. I didn't understand the long story of invoices they explained and I didn't care coz I use my phone for very personal and business purposes. I paid the amount yesterday so I can start using my phone. My phone is still not working even now, when I call them they wanted the receipt I had to go back home (soweto) from work (jhb) and get the receipt and guess what I still have to wait for. Why they wanted the receipt as if it could make them activate my phone. This is really a poor service and I made this payment at MTN store so that they don't tell me about the turn arounds of their internet transfers. I regret using MTN shame, I never had 3G where I stay but i tolarated that enough but this is bull.
