I ported my number from Vodacom to CellC yesterday (20/02). 24Hours later my sim was inactive. On calling 140, we found that the Rica number was incorrectly keyed in by the counter-sales person. I was told to go into the branch to do a 'sim-swap' as she could not do it. I asked to speak to a CC manager and explained that I had worked in a CSP company before and that they could just correct the rica number. After insisting, there was a long pause after which she agreed to correct the Rica ref no (a 331 instead of 311 was captured). She wanted me to wait another 24 hours but I asked to be 'manually provisioned with priority'. My number was still inactive a few hours later so I called again and insisted to speak to a manager. I was given the run-around (they are in meetings). I explained that my provisioning could be manually forced so that my number will be active (30 hours passed since porting). I spoke to a supervisor who wanted to put me through to the porting dept but this would mean me explaining my story again and not getting much attention. I asked the Supervisor to make the call and she agreed to do so and call me back. FOUR hours have gone by and no feedback or activation!!
