Cancellation of cell after migration was arranged

THe contract for the following nr: 083 2800 262 has expired and we went to the Mtn store in Bloemfontein to arrange for migration, so they advice us to phone 808, so we did... a week later (09 February 2013) the number was not available on the mtn network, so the person went to the mtn store at the mall in George and they told them that the number was cancelled and there nothing they could do about it, so they went to the other mtn store in George and one of the sales persons was very helpful and told them that they will send mtn headoffice an e-mail and that the number will be available on the network withing one week, so they went back to the mtn store on the 16th of February 2013 without any luck... today the 20th of February 2013 it's more than one week (in working day) and the number is still unavailable. I feel that this incident is very immature for a company like mtn and that the problem should have been sorted out ASAP. The number is very valuable for the person and is needed back on mtn network very urgent because this is a person that can not operate without his cell phone!!
