My employer is giving me a company phone, I want to port my existing number to the company contract.
I contacted the call centre 2 weeks ago and was told that if I settle the remainder of my contract it would be done in 24 hours and cost me R1600 plus my current invoice.
Today when trying to settle, I was given an amount of R4907 to cancel and R850 for porting my number, or an amount of R3648 to migrate to a prepaid but then I could not port for 3 months. I was evidently misinformed by the previous consultant who helped me. I phoned back to speak to another consultant and was given the same figures.
I have 3 months of contract left, my subscription and hardware subsidy for 3 months is R1665, WHY would I have to pay R5757 to cancel my contract and port my number? This is daylight!!! R4092 as a "reasonable" cancellation fee?
I need to have my number ported within the next 2 days, however I refuse to pay outrageous and unjustified fees to do so.
