In trying to cancel my wifes cell phone contract at Nashua Mobile and retain the number on prepaid. She has 7 months remaining of a two hundred and twenty something rand contract. Upon calling the first time I was told it would cost about R400 to cancel. So my father-in-law (whose name the contract is in) called to cancel and he was told it will cost about R1100. So I called back today to find out how much it would actually cost and was told bout R800. When I asked why the amounts kept on varying I was put on hold so the lady could find out how much it would actually cost. R1700. WHAAAT. I called back striaght after to confirm with a different employee how much it would cost and he also confirmed R1700.
Vodacom only charges 75% of the remaining contract, MTN charge the remainder of the handset plus one month, Cell-C charge only the remainder of the contract. What on earth is Nashua doing charging 115% of the remaining contract.
