I have, in my opinion, received shoddy and no service from MTN regarding my cell phone contract.
I have been a loyal customer of MTN for 17 years, with several contracts and all contracts have been paid monthly on time, every time, and therefore do not expect to be treated in the manner that I have experienced recently.
During November 2012, I travelled overseas and on receipt of my November 2012 cell phone statement I was blown over by the amount of R24, 922.91 charged by MTN to me for "Roaming Events (voice/sms/data)". Mr. MONGEZI CAWE of MTN merely states that the charges are valid and correct. I can honestly state that I was not aware that I could incur such costs and that as far as I am concerned I did not receive services or MTN did not supply services that could amount to that magnitude. I consider this charge to be by MTN as they did not provide any authorised services but demand payment of this amount. Who, in their right mind, would just pay for something they did not receive.
Of course MTN have suspended my services until the amount is fully paid. My attempts to have the matter resolved or to come to a compromise have either gone unanswered or have been ans
