Vodacom
Samsung Galaxy Y Pro absolute dud

In August 2012 I "upgraded" to this Samsung phone. Ten days later, just 3 days beyond the 7-day cutoff date, the phone started to switch itself off at random intervals. I took it to the Vodacom shop in Brooklyn Mall, Pretoria. Very sorry, too late to get a new phone. They will send it for repairs. Two weeks later it is returned. Same as ever. Switched itself off just when it liked. I took it back. They sent it away again and reported back: tested for one day and had not switched itself off. Tried to explain that random means that it might not switch itself off at all in one particular isolated day. Used my old phone for 2 months because I did not have the time to deal with Samsung nonsense. In December 2012 I summoned up the courage to try again. It continues to switch itself off at random intervals, but has now also acquired a new trick: it remains visually on - everything seems fine, until people get hold of me by other means and say they have phoned, smsed, whatsapped, sent carrier pigeons, but to no avail - the phone is actually dead, until I switch it off and restart. Unadulterated rubbish.
