Mtn
Misleading/False advertising

In the February Yello trader magazine (page 5) an offer was made for a laptop clearance sale. This offer was for a Packard Bell Easynote TS laptop plus 500mb of data and a Fastlink E3131 modem @ R199, 00 per month x 24 months. The specifications of this particular laptop was advertised with the following features: Intel Core i5-2410m processor, Windows Home 7, 500GB Harddrive, 64bit.

I went to the store on Monday the 11th of February to upgrade my current contract with this package/offer only to be told by Mr Kader that they have one of the laptops available but that the specifications was incorrectly advertised because the promotion was actually for an entry level laptop.

I have since lodged a complaint with the store and copied [Email Removed] but had no response or confirmation of receipt of the complaint.

As a consumer I feel that the clause "while stocks last" is irrelevant as it was not a stock issue. In fact, it was an offer that was misleading or false and that MTN must honor their offer by a) providing the laptop as advertised or b) replace the laptop with another laptop with the same specifications.
