Cell C
False Advertising

I received repeated calls from Cell C regarding a promo they were running for a laptop and 200mb of data per month for 24 months for R199/pm. Apparently I was offered this promo because of my well maintained and long standing account with them. I accepted the offer and was sent an e-mail from namely Ntombifuthi Dlamini with the offer of an HP Intel Pentium processor laptop. When I recieved the laptop on the 01/02 firstly the box was damaged. I reported the incident via mail. Secondly the laptop was an HP Intel CELERON processor and not a Pentium as the offer was presented. I thereafter sent an e-mail to Ntombifuthi, no reponse. I lodged a complaint via the call centre with a lady by the name of Joy and was assured the problem would be looked into and received a ref. no 302043611. I asked for a response by end of business on the 05/02; no response. I called the call centre on the 05/02 and was put on hold for 23 minutes and then cut off. I would like a response from personnel higher up than the call centre as to date I have received no service or feedback from the call centre. This complaint needs resolution asap or I will escalate this false advertising to the Consumer Council.
