Migration fee applicable when cannot afford

I contacted Vodacom "customer care"(yar right isn't that Ironic!!) I contacted them as my current package is crippling financially and I cannot afford it. I do not want to leave Vodacom as I have been with them for over 10 years and was happy with their service and to continue paying them monthly. However boy was I in for a surprise as to how much a customer means to them.

I am absolutely disgusted with the service I received. Let me be more accurate the consultant Alzona was in fact very helpful until I was told yes you can downgrade so yes almost R900 a month if not affordable you can downgrade to where you will be paying R400 approx a month which I thought great! I can actually make the payments without have a stress attack monthly as to how I will buy the groceries for the kids BUT you must pay us R2251 first! Ummm really? Would I be downgrading for affordability reasons if I had R2251 lying around!

I then asked to speak to the supervisor a Mr. Volenali Sihle (spelling?). Who proceeds to tell me I must understand that I signed a contract etc etc. Which I understand completely I am no
