Two days to activate a SIM card

Responded to an SMS offering very good contract deals. Send yes to be contacted. Was contacted on the 27th of Jan on behalf of Virgin Mobile.
Accepted their offer, received my phone Monday 3 Feb, still waiting to have my SIM card activated, now the 5th Feb. Various calls to customer centre, hanging on for a minimum of 10 - 36 minutes to finally speak to a consultant. Requests made to activate, still not happened. And I can only imagine how long it's going to take to port my existing number..
No response from emails sent, no service. I don't really expect any response from this either.
Either fix it or come and fetch the phone and cancel my contract, it's not like I have been able to use any airtime or data included in the contract price.
For that you need an active SIM, which I do not have
