Unauthorised renewal of contract

Hi There

I thought I would share my story to warn other people to STAY AWAY FROM 8TA.

They have broken the law, automatically kept my contract going (I have requested it be ended 3 times now and given my months' notice) and refuse to terminate it and give my number back! According to a consultant I spoke to, my contract is renewed until 2015! I never agreed to this nor signed for it!

I took out a contract with this incapable, rude and frankly apathetic bunch about two years ago.

After 2 years, my upgrade, or in their terms - renewal came up and I went in store to complete the process - I went to the store 6 times, and logged about 12-15 phone calls in a vain attempt to upgrade. My contract would end on the 4th of Jan and I had been trying to get a phone for close to a month by then. So I went to CellC, and within 20 minutes, had my contract approved and signed - what a breath of fresh air.

By the 3rd of Jan 2013, I had already requested my contract be terminated, and I was promised this would be done immediately by a lying consultant. Since, I have been told about a mandatory 1 month period, which I obliged to and was meant to be Feb 1st, it's the 6th and nothing.
