Cell C
Cheating users out of Internet bandwidth

On the 19th July 2012 I purchased a Cell C Internet contract of 2 Gigabytes per month for twelve months. This contract has zero monthly carry over which implies that all remaining bandwidth is lost at the beginning of the new month. I only activated my my contract on the 1st August 2012 with the purpose that Cell C could do the monthly bandwidth activation on the last day of the month or the first day of the next month. They did not do this. They activated the new bandwidth randomly between the 29 and the end of the month. In January 2013 I used my bandwidth sparingly as I planned to do a sizable download on the 28th January. I checked on the 27th January and found I still had 700 Megabytes left, which was sufficient. On the morning of the 28th January I found that they had activated my bandwidth for February and I had lost the 700 Megabytes in the process. I believe this action is criminal as they cheated me out of 700 Megabytes of bandwidth. I reported the matter to Strauss in the Cell C call center on 28/01/2013. He promised to escalate the matter and gave me a reference number of 3012800839. I called again on 05/02/2013 and spoke to Siphiso without any joy. Cost R120
