Hello Peter,
I was on the Vodacom data contract for My GIG 2 Contract for some years, before I fell for the exceeding the limit trap as set by Vodacom. The reason I call this a "trap" is because the Vodacom consultant that has provided me with the original contract, should have ask one simple question or added one tick box to the contract that says - "Now that you are aware of the applicable tariff when exceeding your limits, what would you like to set the cap for exceeding on? " Given the fact that I were used to a contract of R150 per month for the GIG 2 contract, I find it unfair to the average man on the street not to have set a reasonable cap - in my case it was set at R2, 500, plus Vat brings it to R3, 000. Further to this, I discussed this "not setting a reaonable cap" to a consultant at the Century City branch and even suggested a possible win win situation. My proposal was to upgrade my contract to a higher bandwidth per month contract, but in return I want to use the new contract to first recover the bandwidth under scrutiny first before resuming utilising available bandwidth. This proposal was rejected so I cancelled my contract.
