My phone and ADSL line went down on 25 November 2013. We sent an SMS reporting the fault and never heard back again. I eventually visited the Telkom store at Tygervalley and was pointed to a telephone and told to speak to the faults department. Faults advised they were sending a technician but I must be patient as they were experiencing a backlog.By 18 December, still no technician. I called again and they advised the technician had called me on 16 Dec (public holiday) - I received no such call.
To date, the line is still not working and I've been receiving bills from Telkom which I refuse to pay due to no service on the line.
And this is not the first time this has happened - I had the same problem in February 2013, waited 3 weeks for the line to be fixed and I still had to pay line rental for those weeks of non-service.
I am therefore canceling my service with Telkom, after being a loyal client for more than 5 years. And I will not pay your account.
