Activation of telephone Line

How long does someone need to wait to have a normal telephone line activated. Line was installed last week Friday, it can't take that long to just activate the line at the exchange. I still want to activate adsl which I know takes 12-30 days... Please assist to speed up the process on line number 0126561407. Ref: 49584-14
