After selecting a a Galaxy Note3 device during upgrade of my son's account the consultant advised that we have to buy a micro sim as the normal sim is not useable in the new device. The consultant then performed a sim swap on the system which de-activated the current sim card immediately. When phoning the call centre 4 hours later to advise that both cards are now not useable we were told that it could take up to 24 hours to activate the new card. More than 24 hours later both numbers are still de-activated and apparently this is as a result of a technical issue and Vodacom although charging for a sevice do not have technical people on standby and can only resolve technical issues during 8h00 to 17h00 monday to friday. When i requested to speak to a manager I was told to hold on and listened to music for probably 10 minutes after which I hang up. Poor service to think that they can de-activate a useable card and then expect customers to wait for longer than 24 hours before the new card is activated. Also will the credit the monthly subscription for the period we had no service. the charge for 1 day is probably 17 rand so do this to 1mil cust = neat income for no service
