Upon booking my phone in for repairs with Vodacom customer care at the Gateway Shopping Mall, my phone was sent to Johannesburg against my request. They then did not want to honor the warranty on my phone citing physical damage when there was none. I was then quoted 5000 to repair it, a quote which I immediately rejected. I then asked for it to simply be released for collection in Johannesburg as I reside there. I was then advised that I needed to arrange this release with the Umhlanga branch. I then spoke directly with Malcolm Gounden whom I was told is the Manager of the branch. He had confirmed with me on Friday the 10th of Jan 2014 that he had arranged for my phone to be collected in Johannesburg, however shortly afterwards I had received an SMS saying that it had been sent back to Durban. I made several calls to the branch since then and was only able to get through this morning. I was told that the phone was with them for testing. Testing for what I do not know as I rejected any repairs. This totally defies logic as I just want back what is mine. I did not request for anything to do done by them. The service and lack of responsibility from this branch is pathetic.
