Waterproof Sony Experia cannot be fixed

In August 2013, I bought myself the Water proof cellphone Sony Experia Z as an early birthday present. In December I went to the beach whereby my phone dropped in the pool, luckily I ensured all the the open ends was sealed (The charger and ear phone loops), as i always do! Unfortunately, my camera failed to work there after and the phone no longer wants to charge. I sent the phone away for repairs and feedback was given it fell out of warantee as the phone was and is water damaged. I am utterly disappointment in the fact, that I'm such a peculiar person to not be negligent to not seal the phone knowing i am at the beach. On top of that, i have been a Loyal Sony customer for as long as I am with MTN. How on earth can a waterproof phone be water damaged once its sealed and dropped in water? Does not make any sense to me, Nor am i happy that there is false advertisement. No i am left with no phone, lost all my data/contacts. I'm the person left with disappointment while still paying the contract which will last until 20 further more months. As a suggestion, I would like the phone to be repaired at no costs or i need a replacement of the phone or i will be forced to escolate this.
