Received a Smart phone through FNB. Subsequent to receipt Cell C call me to offer a micro sim.
I agreed to a micro-sim and a R39 a month contract which can be cancelled at any time. Receive a normal sim via courier. Called 13th August 2013 to cancel contract. Oct 2013 I received an sms from FNB Cell C has debited my account with 462.93 for Sep 2013 "normal call usage". I called to report that there is unauthorised usage from someone unknown to me on the account. Nothing was done. Nov 2013 another debit R1192.18. Dec another R600 odd but I had stopped the other amounts so they tried debiting R2268.70. Cell C "investigated" and said I am liable for unauthorised calls.
I refuse payment on the basis that 1. There is no agreement (they didnt send me the micro sim) 2. I notified Cell C to close the account in Aug 2013 and that subsequent billing should not have been able to occur 3. Further billing should not have occurred after I had notified them that this open account is being used without authority (sim card) and demand a full refund plus costs incurred.
