Termination of Contract

I signed a contract with MTN 2 years ago on the 23rd of December, due to service issues I wanted to cancel it six months before the end of contract and i was even willing to pay the penalty fee. The consultants and both branches at Westgate Mall they told me I can only cancel on the 23/12/2013. (tried the 808 they told me the same story). On the 02/12/2013 I went to the brach again to ask them to action the cancellation for me because I did not want to be debited in January 2014 they still could not help me.

On the 23/12/2013 I started at the small branch the lady with the short hair she told me that the retention office is closed I need to come back tomorrow, tried my luck with the second branchwhere my cancellation was intially actioned, to my suprise the rention department was now working. On the 02/01/14 MTN went attemped to debit me and they even send me massages that I owe them R219.40.
My request to MTN is they must clear those arrears and pay the bank charges as im not prepared to be listed for R219.40.
