Opened contracts in December, still no phone

My mom and I decided to port from Vodacom to Telkom Mobile, thinking we would get better service and better deals. Boy were we wrong. We went to Lakeside to open contracts early in December. The sales lady said she would phone as soon as they were approved, and that she was reserving 2 phones for us. After a week we still haven't heard from her, and went back to the store. There we learnt that our contracts had been approved, but that our phones were now "missing" or "still on their way". They then wasted 2 hours of our time while they disappeared to "make phonecalls" for 20 min at a time to look for our phones, each time returning with a new lie (such as that the courier forgot to fetch the phones, or that the phones were at a different branch, or that they could only find one). Eventually they said the phones were all out of stock. It is now a month later and we still don't have our phones. When we phone to enquire, they still say the phones are out of stock and that they can't tell us when we will get them. This is a terrible and highly disappointing start to a new relationship. Is there any service provider that actually does a good job without ripping you off? I've lost hope.
