Upgrade to 10Mb DSL - impossible to find out?

I have over the course of the past 2 months tried numerous times to find out from Telkom whether I can upgrade my 4Mb DSL line to 10Mb. Every indication is that my exchange supports 10Mb yet I am never able to get an answer as to whether I can upgrade my line.

I was told 3 weeks ago that they were busy upgrading either my exchange or line and that I should phone back within the next few days to process the upgrade. I phoned back a week later (27th Dec) and was aided by a very helpful Flavio Cajapeno who was unable to tell whether the upgrade was possible as a specific system was "down" but emailed me and said he would let me know as soon as possible. I did not hear back and emailed him on the 30th Dec and was told in reply he was working on it but have since not heard back again.

I'm really quite tired of constantly phoning to chase this matter - could I please just be told whether this upgrade is possible and, if it is, go ahead with the upgrade?
