Lost airtime migrating from contract to prepaid

It is quite sad that I have to complain on Hello Peter regarding this, I did email all the support channels available to me but to no avail.

I migrated from contract after 16 years and plenty spent to prepaid as personally I do not need to keep upgrading my smart phone every 2 years, the technology is at a level where improvements are slowing so I thought I would move to prepaid as I no longer needed to subsidise a handset.

It took a while for everything to move across and I was without data for about 3 days which was not a major train smash, I could still make calls and sms. When the account did finally migrate I lost all my balances, R1, 385.91 airtime and 1.6GB of data and a few SMS's. I paid for this airtime and data and therefore it belongs to me and should carry over in my opinion. I have seen a similar complaint and the response is that if you ask for it to be transferred it is, if you don't ask it just disappears. Well I have asked, everyone I possibly could, customer care line, email, facebook and twitter and still have not had my airtime transferred. Come on MTN, what do I need to do to get the airtime and data that I paid for on contract moved to my prepaid account?
