My Vodacom contract is over (thank goodness)... but there's one more sting in the tale from this corporate that makes their own consumer rules. In order to port my number to my new service provider I have been told that I have to give them a month's notice!! For what? My 24 month contract is OVER Vodacom. I went through the exercise last week with my son's MTN phone in the same circumstances. No problem. The friendly MTN assistant moved the number from contract to prepaid immediately and within 24 hours I was signing a deal with the new service provider. Not Vodacom. Why would they make any effort for their consumers? I wish to move to a special deal with my new service provider that is only valid until December 31. Now Vodacom is putting a spanner in the works with their own rules that make no sense whatsoever. How frustrating. How predictable. The whole family is slowly moving off Vodacom after years of custom to service providers that seem to actually care for their clients.
