Neotel put me on itc for 0.81 cent

Today I went to the store to apply for a cellphone contract, after waiting in the queue for 15m and doing the application I was shocked to find out that I was declined due to a bad record on ITC, totally embarrassed I walked out of the store not knowing how this could have happened. I take my credit record very serious and try to pay my debt quicker than required, I have never missed a payment and dont plan to. So after searching for a hour on the web to find out how I can figure out how this happened I saw a forum advising me to do a itc check with transunion. To my amazement I was shocked to find out that a Neotel account that I closed a year ago showed red (more than 150) for Aug, Sep and Oct. I immediately contacted the call centre and the lady said that the last debit order that they deducted was .81 cents short and without noticing me or trying to recover the amount from me blacklisted me on itc. It was a mistake that they made and most shocking of all it was only .81 cents. I now can't make any credit at any store, can anyone please advise me what to do next? I still have a reference number requesting to cancel my account.
