Assistance cancelling a vodacom

I went to Vodacom 4u longbeach mall wanting to get a new contract.
after a lengthy haggle with the consultant my application was denied.
this was apparently due a legal notice placed on my account with irregular payments.

this was for a Samsung s4 mini contract valued at 240 a month.
after much checking and assurances that the account gets paid monthly by debit order and has never been declined at the banks, even the sales guy said he could see that...
anyways. I knew that another of my contracts was due for an upgrade and seeing that I had just 2 months left until that terminated... I opted for an upgrade and the handset of choice was not the s4 mini at 240 as this was also declined. I then went for a more expensive contract @ 400 a month... which was not my first choice.
on Tuesday after getting the advice from customer care and vodacoms legal department they said I can approach the store for the 240 contract...

I then and there decided that I don't want to do business with Vodacom and returned the handset and a notice of cancellation for this new contract which only gets effected on the 1st of January...
I need help in cancelling this.
