Not informing when change of contract will start

My cellphone contract was due for upgrade, I went in changed the contract to Vodacom Lite, specifically asking the lady if the new contract will start immediately, on which I was assured yes. Well it was not, I had to pay very high amounts for the last 3 months, because I used internet to download files which I thought was included in my Vodacom Lite package.

I went in the shop and they did not even offer a Internet package, they just shrugged their shoulders. I would expect out of decency they could have maybe given me a voucher or something to compensate, as they were at fault.

Such a pity that I have to stick with them for another 2 years, but after that NEVER again will I renew a contract with them.
