A few months ago I went to MTN Fourways mall to do a SIM swap. I was told that South African ID documents are not recognized by MTN and I needed a drivers licence or passport. I was fuming and had to ride home in peak hour traffic to fetch another form of identification. When I returned I complained to the manageress who told me emphatically that MTN does not need my business and I can freely cancel. My contract is now up for renewal and I have had 2 calls from MTN trying to get me to renew. I will make it my goal in life to ensure I spread the word about how I was treated at the Fourways branch and ensure my family and friends never use an MTN product.
