Vodacom
Unfair billing and bad business etiquette

Good Day, I would like to make a complaint against Vodacom, specifically the Accounts and legal Department. I cancelled [following the prescribed 28 day notice period] my contract last year in September 2012 [last month of my contract with them]. I ported my number to MTN and started a contract with them after receiving confirmation that my number was ported from Vodacom. More than 12 months later I am only made aware, after getting an ITC check that apparently I owe Vodacom money outstanding from my contract [which was on debit order at that stage]. I tried to explain that there is no way that I can owe them money, everything was paid in full, they kept sending other people to inquire. Never the same guy that requested me to make a payment. After trying to resolve this with their legal department, I gave up and paid the outstanding amount. I sent them the proof of payment hoping that it settles the score. Now, a moment ago I get an email thanking me for the payment, but I will have to check with the "DEBT COLLECTOR" if they have outstanding fees. This is unjust seeing as I was never contacted by the "collector" or made aware that it was handed over. Only after I contacted them
