Billing after contract cancellation

Last year end of august I cancelled my contract which expired end of September, Fine so far
By the 1st of October I was on pre-paid and happily busy porting to a new provider.
2nd Of October I got billed for the "Last time" the amount seemed excessive seeing as it was only supposed to be for any excess used above my existing contract. After hours trying to get through to accounts only to be told to speak to contracts and contracts responding that i am no longer on contract i must speak to accounts I finally gave up as the time spent on the calls cost me more than the bill.
Lo and behold end of October I get debited again from vodacom, after the same rigmarole being sent from department to department sitting on hold then being disconnected I reversed the debit and put a stop order on the account.
Now today I get a call from legal trying to collect "Outstanding Money", upon voicing the situation to the operator I get the response "Okay I have lodged it as a dispute" no ref number no contact number I will probably receive a legal letter in another couple months time.

I wonder how many other people will be willing to band together to bill Vodacom for their wasted time?
