What am i paying for?

I have a contract with MTN its 24 months contract ended in September so i called them to cancel the contract end of october. They told me they will cancel my account in November but my last paymnet will be in end of Dec. My question is to them what if i didnt call to cancel, then there were going to deduct R330 from my bank and was is that money for??? i could have understood if they say they only deduct for the airtime and bundeles whatever it is which im not even using and thats not their fault me not using it. Im paying R330 for 3 months phone is fully paid as per the contract so why do they continue deducting my money. what happens to my neighbour who takes the same contract and they dont call to cancel do they take their money for as long as they dont cancel the contract, whats the money for??? it would have been better when they see the contract is ending ask if you want a new phone, NO!!! old phone 24 months up but still deduct the same money WHY? why is MTN the people??? you send them emails they take weeks to reply
