I visited an MTN branch for a SIM Swap on Friday 3) November 2013 and this was done and I waited the minimum 2 hours to 24 hours. 24 hours later my line was not working and I was on the call centre with customer services & technical - still no joy. Monday 2 December I got a new SIM card yet again, my line worked for a few hours and then went dead! Call centre advised to go back to the MTN store which I did and now I have yet another SIM card and I must wait 2 - 24 hours yet again!
Apparently there is not escalation process to expedite my number being connected. In the meantime I can't be mobile and most of my business contacts prefer to call on my mobile!!! Meanwhile, I can't get help from customer service or call centre agent and no they can not escalate??? after 9 years of being MTN's customer, I am contemplating switching to Vodacom, Cell C or Telkom!
