SIM card inactive for 4 Days!!!

I did a sim swap on Monday which was only actioned on Tuesday, fair enough. I was told the sim swap would be active after 2 - 24 hours. 28 hours later, i called to find out why my sim was not yet active. I was then told that it was not yet registered with the network and the operator then said she would send communication to the network operators to have it prioritised, i must give it another 24 hours. i have done that and its been another 32 hours and i am now told the sim swap failed and the operator again says he will send communication to the network operators to register the sim on the network. What happened to the first communication that was apparently sent and why is it taking so long?

This number is my primary number that i use for both professional and personal reasons. I have had to revert to getting another sim card of which i cannot keep telling my clients to call me on one number then revert back to another, its unprofessional. I have two lines with MTN which i pay well, i would only expect that the same level of service will be applied to me
