Sim swap takes an eternity

Vodacom is incapable of doing a sim swap. When they begin the process they say it will take between 4 and 24 hours.(how does that work. I can understand 4to 8 hours) it is now 36hours later and my number still does not work. In 2013 it is unacceptable to be out of reach because my network cant do a sim swap. I am a project manager, my phone is my primary means of communication.
When I call the call centre i get disconnected because the poor coverage does not allow it. This is the 2nd sim swap im doing this month and i am getting the exact same service. Vodacom extorts billions with their insane tarifs, perhaps you can work on your service.
I am utterly disgusted but not surprised at the service received.
When i complain at the branches i am told "eish ya.. Everyone is having that problem" everyone is not my concern.

What would it take to get competent people to manage service delivery.
