I had a Broadband 2GB Topup Data bundle on contract for two years from MTN for R148.98/month. At the end of the two year period, MTN, without notification, increased the monthly subscription to R389. This was apparently done under the pretext of myself having received a R240.02/month "discount" for the past two years. Judging by the current MTN data bundle rates (R129/month), as well as the data bundle rates from competitors, this unannouced price hike is bad business practice.
I recommend everyone out there not be aware of these damaging unfair business practices from MTN. The once-off data bundles from the competition is soo much better.
Lastly, dealing with the MTN Call Centre is no pleasure.
