Simcard still inactive after 3 weeks

I arrived back in SA after time abroad so I needed a new MTN simcard, since mine got lost during my time away. Nashua Mobile in Clearwater provided me with a new simcard, and told me to keep my phone switched off until the next morning. I switched it on the next morning, and it was still dead. So I phoned them. They advised me to keep my phone switched off for 20 minutes, and promised that the simcard would be active after 20 minutes. Switched on my phone again, still nothing. Phoned them again, same story. It is now 3 weeks later and my simcard is still dead. Their excuse is something to do with international roaming, which is nonsense because I never used my simcard abroad. This is the worst imaginable service, and sadly it is not the first time that Nashua Mobile has left me disappointed. I do not understand what the problem is, but this will surely be my last contract with Nashua Mobile. I am tired of rubbish service and undertrained staff.
