Iphone 5S upgrade

I do not believe I have ever received service this bad. Last week thursday I requested an upgrade to the IPHONE5S which was launched on Friday. I used Vodacom online as the phone would be delivered to me.
I was told they do have stock and that the phone will be delivered on Monday. Over the last week I phone every day and no one can tell me when the phone will be delivered. Also the order was escalated twice to a superior, but I still did not get feed back from anyone.

When I checked on the internet the status of my order U560197 is 'BackOrder Placed'. How is this possible when I placed the order the day before it being launched and when I was told that they do have stock. Can someone please tell me what is going on, because I have been waiting since April to do this upgrade. The upgrade is done but I still haven't receive my handset.
