I cancelled my contract with Cell C last year because I was tired of going overseas and always having roaming problems.
I decided to take out a new contract but was told that my ID number was in pre-legal status. When I followed up I was told that my account was R4.50 in arrears and that once I had paid the outstanding amount I had to wait 3mnths until I could apply for a new account.
I received no notice of this outstanding amount. I've been with Cell C for at least 7yrs and have never been in arrears. Its shocking to be receiving this sort of customer service over a R4.50 account which I never received. It has made me reconsider my decision to take out a new contract.
I'm glad I've cancelled my 3 contracts that I have had with Cell C, if this is the service they give their clients
