SPYING ON CELL INFO SAPS SAY VODACOM MUST REPORT

I had an employee of Vodacom spy on my cell phone info for about three months. There were other customers as well amoung whom was a personal friend. This spying activity went undetected by the employees manager and Vodacom Forensics. I happened to call Vodacom on a suspicion and they confirmed my fear. The employee was suspended a few days after I reported my suspicions. He was eventually dismissed. I was informed by Vodacom that I could lay criminal charges against this ex employee since it is illegal to spy on someone else's cell phone info. I wanted to lay a criminal charge during the hearing but was told by Vodacom to rather wait until that procrss was completed. I did so. But SAPS informed me that Vodacom. Should have reported the crime since it took place on their premisses and using their systems. Is Vodacom allowing employees to get away crime? How well are we being protected if employess can spy on us? If this was not uncovred by myself as a customer would this type of spying just continued? Please advise
