I asked MWEB to downgrade my service to 1GB as from Dec 1 due to me leaving the country on Dec 4. Don't know if that sunk in or whether they are 'willing' to do that.
I also requested that both the data and phone line (phone line through mweb from Telkom) is cancelled per Dec 5 as I do not want to risk that other people might use my phone while I am not here, and resulting in a huge bill for me. I was told I would have to move back the line to TELKOM (more expense for me, of course) and could then cancel myself.
I was told that I have to give one month notice. I said I am paying for an entire month, so that's one months notice.
I was then told that I cannot cancel the phone line per Dec 5. I told the consultant (and confirmed that in writing to MWEB) that if they decide not to follow my instructions and my phone line is misused, THEY can pay for any calls. Telling me 'company procedure', don't give a about any stupid company procedure. We are living in South Africa, we all know of staff and others misusing phone lines, so MWEB is living in DREAMLAND, I think?
Funny, been a good payer for years, but this is how MWEB treats you when you try to cancel, disgusting!
