Over the December holidays my cellphone was and I had it blacklisted. It has subsequently been found and therefore need to unblacklist it. If I had known what a trying process it would be to unblacklist it through MTN's 'customer care, I would have rather left it blacklisted! I first called 0831808 to which an automated voice rattled off a list as long as my arm of prompts - none of which I was looking for. Eventually when I did choose a prompt to speak to an operator, the line went dead, this happened 3 times! And to add insult to injury when I called a different number I found on MTN's website, the lady on the other side first said I should call the 0831808 and after I told her it wasn't of any use to me, proceeded to tell me that she could not assist me unless I faxed through an affidavit! An affidavit? What on earth for? Surely according to the RICA requirements all my details should be on the MTN system and my ITC number should be sufficient? 2 of my colleagues, both of whom had unblacklisted their phones, were NOT asked for an affidavit and had a very pleasing experience with their service providers. I am just left frustrated and solutionless with you MTN!
