Shocking management of iphone 5s preorders

My cellphone contract ended about 5 months ago and I decided to wait for the new iphone 5s. There were numerous international release dates with South Africa finally being November 15th.

At the end of October I preregistered on the MTN website for the iphone 5s. Shortly after registration as bad luck would have it my old Nokia stopped functioning. I decided to limp through using an old phone I had, after all it was only two weeks and I could manage with my contacts not being on the phone (barely!!!).

Well release day came and went and no information is forthcoming from MTN about when the upgrade will be delivered. I tried phoning their customer help line on Saturday 16th and the only people who can assist work Mon to Fri. How can a corporate customer not receive service on the weekend, especially a Sat morning?!!!

I was informed that Vodacom have released their preorders of the iphone 5s to their customers within 24 hours of the cellphones release. I really wish I was with a cell phone company that delivered as good service.

As I am out of contract I will definitely look at the Vodacom offering and maybe port my number... just not sure of reception where I live.
