I've had it with MTN. when I took out a contract on 25 August 2013 I asked the lady if I could keep my cellc number which contract was finishing the week after. she told me that she could not cos I didn't have my statement with me but it would be easy to do myself later. Everything is linked to that number and I don't have the time to go change it at every institution. and i keep getting calls for a Petunia!!! after numerous failed attempts at getting hold of MTN, i eventually did as told that it was too late to change my number as i was already being invoiced and would have to do a number port and then call to activate my number for life! 2 months and 2 prepaid sims later it finally ported. i then call to activate my number for life and get told i cant. the call centre tells me i must escalate it to the manager at the store so it could be reversed as the lady that served me should have been more helpful and accept that i bring the statement when i collect the phone. i spoke to Victor who said he would look into it. Victor has just informed me that the call centre told him it cant be done and that i should open a new contract and migrate, so a customer must pay for MTNs mess??
