For the past 7 years my 3G account with Altech Autopage averaged at about R160 per month. During September 2013 I upgraded to a cheaper package amounting to R99/mnth instead of R121.93/mnth, for the same amount of data and benefits. Suddenly my monthly bill came to R676.37 in September and R1055.81 in October in spite of my usage being the same as in the last 7 years. GPRS usage shot up from R7.08 to first R454.72 and then to R787.56. Altech cannot explain this sudden extreme increase in GPRS cost. Is it possible for someone to hack into my account? This sudden increase in data usage seems to point to this. I am also receiving email messages on the same 3G threatening a Mr Venter for non payment of MTN and TELKOM bills. These emails threaten to blacklist Mr Venter. How is it possible for 2 people to use the same simcard number? Nobody seems able to answer my questions.
