Please Just Cancel

I made a request on Vodacom to cancel the contract last week already and they told me it will be done in 24 Hours. Its about a week now and still no joy, they keep telling me the call has been logged and i will get the response soon.

Why is it so difficult to cancel the contract than to start or open.
