At home we have a landline number (043) 762 6229 that has been in use over over 25 years.
Sometime in March this year, I had converted the line to prepaid. I was told all I needed to do was pay R100 which I did.
I was shocked to discover that it was disconnected during the month of October because I never received any notification that the account was supposedly not paid. Now Telkom decided to disconnect it claiming non payment. I decided not to contest that and duly paid the reactivation fee.
I apid this fee last week on the 23rd of October. Today the 31st of October the line has still not been reactivated. I sent numerous follow-ups with Mr Isaacs and this onring he informed me that the number allocated had to be changed, after having delayed in acting on the request to reinstate it!
I requested to be referred to the manager responsible for the reactivation of lines. I also stated that either the line gets reactivated with the same number as a matter of urgency or the entire process be cancelled and that I get a refund for the monies paid.
This has been refused. What on earth for?? I need redress right now!
