Sim swop gone wrong

I had to do a sim swop for my data contract after my bag was with my 3G modem in it. I have another modem now, and waited the required hours after I did the sim swop, expecting it to work. It did not. Long story short, I have been to the store 5 times, and called into the customer care line 4 times, and I've got a different story each time. The first time, it wasn't activated properly (told to me at store); then it needed to be unlocked (told to me both at store and call centre - both said they'll unlock it); then it needed to be synchronised (from call centre, apparently done now. Bottom line is, the SIM card is not being picked up on my device or any others. I had it tested by an IT engineer at work, on different devices, different laptops and PC's and it definitely doesn't work. My contract costs R349 a month and I am now not able to make use of it. I'm not sure what more I can do to get Vodacom to assist me. Give me a new sim that actually works or make this one work!
