I've had my MTN sim card which I use for my dongle since 2007. My monthly charges has been R84.00 EVERY single month and the data has always been enough. I bought a new laptop and Diane Bylsma at the Walmer Park branch told my my dongle is outdated I need a new dongle, which I bought. It didnt work on the new laptop which I had with me instore. She then told me that I need to upgrade the sim (sim swop) because this was old. I did that too (R400 later). She checked and everything worked. I went online the next day to do internet banking and went onto Gumtree. My charges for that data came to R1515!!! Since 30 Aug 2013 I have been phoning the head office, Luxolo at Cape Road office etc etc and no one can tell me how the heck this is possbile if the data HAS ALWAYS been enough. Surely with the sim swop they changed something on my account which caused these high charges. But no one - after numerous calls and store visits can tell me what happened or assisted me in solving this problem with the unfair / unreasonable charges.
