No network coverage despite a contract with Mtn

On the 8th Oct 2012 i received a call and it was cut off, the error was "your phone is now on GSM mode". i just switch it off and on again, i never paid much attention to it, until on Friday when i realise i am not receiving calls. i took it to the nearest Mtn store in Alberton and they called a number (unknown) to me and they said it will be fine. but the same thing kept on happenning, i called 808 on Sunday after explaining everything to them, the agent just drop the phone on my ear with no assitance at all. on monday (14) i went to Alberton store again they say the Sim is not working on my phone, i must do a Sim swap, but i must go to The Glen since they don't have the micro chip Sims on their premises. i asked for The Glen numbers so i can find out what is needed, i called 0832226546 and the lady directed me to store and said i just need to be there and they will help me out. when i got there i was told i need a ID document, they cannot help me without it. i asked how do i cancel my contract with you since you guys are not helping me at all, she could not help me with that too, i just wsted my time and still not assited. She could have just told me when i called that ID was neede
